Our weekend

Jerusalem was a lot cleaner than Nazareth. I liked our “hotel” because of a little orange kitty in the courtyard. Dad got me a little solid brass tea set. It’s not like an American tea set, it’s way different. He got it because during the tour I was trying to find interesting things that I heard, saw, and other neat stuff. He said I behaved really well. One of the sounds I loved was hearing canaries singing in cages above some of the market stalls. :)

In Jerusalem’s old market, we found fresh figs!! They tasted like sugar bombs, which is a very good thing. They were gooey.

The room was awesome, ’cause Zoe and I had bunks. Bethlehem was cool because I actually got to be where little Jesus was. Bethlehem was scenic. There were a lot of olive trees that our guides said were 1,000 years old or more!

I went up Mt. Masada on a thingy mabobber (cable car). We saw these ruins that were from ancient Jewish times and Roman times. I felt like a sweat ball. It must have been about 105 degrees Fahrenheit up there.

I loved the Dead Sea!! I floated like a little feather. I felt so light and free! I collected lots of salt crystals and my biggest one is about 10 inches across and 1.5 inches thick. I accidently tasted the water and it tasted even worse than the regular sea. I learned that there’s nothing except for 8 or 9 species of bacteria living in the water.

I just plain loved our trip over the weekend (except for being sweaty)!!

Thanks for sharing about your experiences in the Dead Sea. The pictures are great and your comments interesting. You are so fortunate to have this opportunity to walk where Jesus walked and see so many sights!
