Today we went into London on our layover between Denver and Tel Aviv. We went to St. Martin in the Fields Church and made brass rubbings in the gift shop. The shop and the cafe are downstairs, in the crypt. Nina was kinda freaked out, but it was cool. We chose "tea" goodies including scones, clotted cream, jam, and a chocolate tart. That is right beside Trafalgar square where people were hanging out, a chalk artist was working, etc. We did a lot of walking. We went through St. James' Park toward Buckingham Palace and then to see the outside of Westminster Abbey (we couldn't get in that late in the afternoon). Big Ben is near that, on the north end of the houses of Parliament.
Dad surprised us by hiring a black taxi to take us over the Westminster Bridge to ride the "London Eye" (the largest Ferris wheel on earth). The photo of us on the bridge shows the Eye in the background. We were all kind of tired, but the weather was beautiful. I was disappointed that we couldn't see London Bridge, but we only had so much time.
We'll write about Nazareth in the next couple of days!

This brings back memories of Lauren and my trip to London with our friends. That was ten years ago this fall!
St. Martin in the Fields Church is where I fell asleep with my head on the table while the others did brass rubbings.
Can't wait to hear more!
I'm jealous you all got to see London. It's a place I'd like to visit someday...
